Pencil box

Writer and composer Heinrich Köselitz wrote in a letter to Nietzsche:

“My ‘thoughts’ in music and language often depend on the quality of pen and paper.”

Friedrich Nietzsche, in response to Köselitz:

“You are right, our writing equipment takes part in the forming of our thoughts.”

There is perhaps no stationery that influences the thought process of a designer more than the pencil.  Raw ideas are sketched on impulse, erased with frustration and redrawn with greater clarity.  Just as the pen encourages prose and subtlety, the pencil defines the potential of an idea with poetry and irreplaceable energy.

Pencil Box is designed to bring back the value of hand-drawing and writing, giving importance to a once familiar tool – the pencil.
